Cultural Educator Yvonne Wolf gives a short background on the aesthetics of Japanese and Chinese gardens. Examples from Chicago Botanical Gardens and Chinatown’s Ping Tom Park will be used. Learn about the Confucian symbolism expressed in gardens and how they are used to relieve stress and cultivate inner peace. This presentation will focus on 5 specific motifs.
