About this event
This program will discuss the life and work of the late Nicole Smith, an artist from Haiti and the first Black Woman to own an art gallery in Downtown Chicago. Using the collection of artwork she donated to the Haitian American Museum of Chicago (HAMOC) as a frame of reference, this program will go over her journey to Chicago, her contributions to the arts and her accomplishments as a Black business woman. Please bring your memories of Nicole Smith to share.

Moderator: Owen Leroy

Panelists: Owen Leroy, Makeba Kedem-DuBose, Jesus Macarena-Avila and Cesar Ramirez

This is a FREE event with a $10 suggested donation to the museum.
