Product Description
Opening reception: April 30, 2021 – 6-9pm
Show runs through June 25, 2021
After being postponed due to COVID-19, the group exhibition 1 Cancer Patient will be showing on premises at the DANK Haus.
This exhibit was created by cancer thriver Traci Asher, Chicago photographer Warren Perlstein and curator Rosa Gallagher. The intent of the show is to ease fears of the unknown often felt by women diagnosed with cancer. Even though we might share a similar journey, we all walk through it differently. Five artists will use their unique skills to prove the theory that this disease can be fought with humor, beauty, and strength. The works selected represent a wide variety of media – photography, paint, ceramic, fabric and assemblage.
Free registration is required to keep a limit on attendance during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. If you plan to bring a guest, please include them when you register so we can add them to the guest list.
If we reach capacity, we will ask additional guests to wait outside the gallery until other guests have left.
There will also be a virtual component hosted by Virtual Curtain, May 2 through June 25. To receive an invitation to the virtual exhibition, send a direct message to @1CancerPatient on Instagram or Facebook. You will receive a password to the virtual exhibit.
You can also visit the on-site gallery by appointment, Weds – Sat 10-2. Please email rosa@dankhaus.com to request a visit. No walk-ins.
